Well it depends. I have 88mb of fast RAM. With JPEGTMP: assigned to my hard
disks, progressive JPEG files take AGES to display and cause a phenomenal
amount of hard disk thrashing (like reading from a validating drive). With it
assigned to RAM: they load much, much faster and it never uses all that much
of my ram...
If you have less than, say (pure guess), 64mb of fast or are running lots of
other programs it may be a bad idea, otherwise its great.
